Pick-your-own strawberry, raspberry and blueberry farms within about an hour of Chicago. Berries are the most changeable u-pick crop there is — a busy weekend can close a farm the next day while the fruit ripens back up — so every farm here posts its own daily picking conditions, and every one of them asks you to check before you set out. Ring the number on the card first: it is a real drive, and a field that was picking yesterday can be closed today. Season windows come from each farm's own website or their own social channel, never a listings site, with the date we last read them on every card.
